About
Stephen Devassy is a renowned pianist who is widely regarded as an enthralling stage performer, an innovative arranger of film music, and a brilliant composer.
Stephen started his journey at 18 and did the music orchestration of six songs on the album Ishtamannu and went on as an accompanying artist to play the keyboard for renowned singer Hariharan and violin maestro L. Subramanian.
He started an Indian pop music band Seven, with singer Franco Simon and guitarist Sangeeth Pavithran.
Stephen is also one of the regular band members in Rexband, and has performed with the band before Pope John Paul II during World Youth Day performance in 2002 in Canada.
As a well-renowned pianist & a keytar player, Stephen's solo stage shows have propelled him to the top league of onstage performers. He has had the privilege to work with legends like AR Rahman, Zakir Hussain, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Shankar Mahadevan, London Symphony Orchestra and Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra to name a few.
With over 2000 stage shows in over 60 countries, Stephen Devassey is rated as the fastest keyboard player Stephen is fondly known as ‘Flying Fingers’ and ‘Prince of Piano.
Stephen has also created sacred chants of Kosmic Music, which is set to a background of western music, Sanskrit slokas, mantras, and Upanishad verses, and CDs of holy chants on Ganesha, Shiva, and Vishnu.
From a piano prodigy who holds the record as Asia’s highest scorer in solo piano exams from Trinity College of Music, London, Stephen has recorded music for over 100 Tamil movies.
He has served as a judge on various singing TV reality shows including Super Singer, Top Singer, The Voice India Kids Season 2, and Star Singer among others.

- He received the ‘Artiste of the Year’ by AMMA award in 2009.

- Stephen won the ‘Brands Academy Award for Stephen Devassy’s – Muzik Lounge School of Audio Technology in 2013.

- He won the ‘Swaralaya Award’ in 2016.
- Stephen Devassy received a certificate of participation in 2019 from Guinness World Records for working on the music of the longest documentary film 100 years of Chrysostom.
